1. Who We Are
Stocks & Signals is an independent data and analytics platform. The Service provides industry reports containing value chain analysis, market concentration scoring, and ranked assessments of publicly traded securities.
2. What We Collect
We collect the minimum data necessary to operate the Service.
Account data: Email address, name, and authentication credentials, collected when you create an account. Provided by you directly.
Payment data: Payment method details (card number, billing address) are collected and processed by our payment processor when you subscribe to a paid plan. We do not store full card numbers.
Usage data: Pages viewed, features used, report access history, and interactions with the platform. Collected automatically via our analytics provider, hosted in the EU.
Communication data: Email address and email engagement metrics (opens, clicks) when you subscribe to our mailing list or receive transactional emails.
Technical data: IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, and timestamps. Collected automatically by our hosting infrastructure.
What we do NOT collect: We do not collect, request, or store information about your investment portfolio, holdings, trading history, financial situation, net worth, income, risk tolerance, or investment objectives. This is by design — we are a data and analytics platform, not an advisory service.
3. Why We Process Your Data
We process your data for the following purposes, each with a corresponding legal basis under GDPR and the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nFADP): providing and maintaining the Service (contract performance); processing payments and managing subscriptions (contract performance); sending transactional emails for account, billing, and alerts (contract performance); analyzing usage to improve the Service (legitimate interest); sending marketing emails including newsletters and new report announcements (consent); preventing fraud and abuse (legitimate interest); and complying with legal obligations (legal obligation).
You may withdraw consent for marketing emails at any time by clicking "unsubscribe" in any email or contacting us.
4. Cookies and Analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:
Essential cookies: Session authentication and security. These are necessary for the Service to function and cannot be disabled.
Analytics cookies: We use a self-hosted analytics platform on EU infrastructure to understand how the Service is used. This collects anonymized usage data including pages viewed, features used, and session duration. No data is sent to servers outside the European Economic Area for analytics purposes.
You can control non-essential cookies through your browser settings. Disabling analytics cookies does not affect the functionality of the Service. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels from ad networks, or any form of cross-site tracking. We do not serve ads.
5. Who We Share Data With
We do not sell personal data to third parties.
We share data only with service providers who process it on our behalf to operate the Service: authentication and billing providers for account management and payment processing; infrastructure providers for hosting (EU region) and database; an analytics provider for usage analytics (EU cloud); and an email provider for transactional and marketing emails.
All service providers are bound by data processing agreements. We select providers that maintain appropriate security standards. A list of current sub-processors is available upon request.
6. International Transfers
Our hosting and analytics infrastructure is located in the European Union. Some service providers (including our authentication and email providers) may process data in the United States. Where personal data is transferred outside Switzerland or the EEA, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission or reliance on an adequacy decision.
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you close your account, we will delete your personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law or necessary to resolve disputes.
Email engagement data is retained for as long as you remain subscribed to our mailing list.
8. Your Rights
Under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nFADP) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to: access your personal data and request a copy; rectify inaccurate or incomplete data; delete your personal data, subject to legal retention requirements; restrict processing in certain circumstances; object to processing based on legitimate interest; data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format; and withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time.
